Does this band ever take a break? lol Microcosmos was a nice return.
Oh, damnit. Drudkh's starting to follow a formula...
1. Minute long intro 2. Lengthy Black Metal track 3. Lengthy Black Metal track 4. Lengthy Black Metal track 5. Lengthy Black Metal track 6. Minute long outro
It's the exact same thing they did on Microcosmos, and although that was a fantastic album, the formula didn't pay off in full. There was a bit more variety in songwriting and introducing/closing the album on both Autumn Aurora and Blood in Our Wells, both of which are masterful albums. I'm sure this will be another rock solid Drudkh album (since pretty much everything they do is fantastic), but the noticeable formula is a tad discouraging.
And no, they never take a break. Ever.

I never listened to them that much to notice that formula. Interesting, I'll get rtight on it and check them more specifically.
Anyhow, I enjoy them usually and definitely looking forward to this album, maybe they'll have a few surprises ^^
hmmm, I am not sure what to think of it. It's definitely different sounding. The guitars are cleaner and the sound is not as muddy or layered. There also hints of shoegaze/post black elements.
I thinks this needs a few more spins to fully take it in.
