LA death rock. They're obviously reading from the same playbook as early Christian Death, but were never as successful.

Well, some being me, based on owning both of their albums and just the first Christian Death album. BTW, the CD reissue of The Vision & the Voice on Mobilization is legit and includes four live bonus tracks. According to the band, the CD versions of their albums on Cleopatra were not authorized. BTW, the two Sativa Luvbox albums that followed were pretty good, imo. I see the 1993 Beloved Satellite CD in used bins all the time, super-ass cheap. Their 1989 debut, vinyl-only album, The Bad Sleep Well, was a bitch to find, though. I eventually dug one up at a brick'n'mortar store that listed their stock on-line, as well. I got the impression from Patrick's wife (I think) that he doesn't even have a copy, 'cause she wanted to know where on Earth I found it. I should add the band name on that one was Sativa Luv Box.

If you have a turntable and a buncha money, try to find the original vinyl versions of the EP and Filth; that CD sounds like poop, to my ears.

Into It. Over It. 52 WeeksSolo thing from Evan Weiss, an member of the sadly defunct Up Up Down Down Left Right Left Right B A Start. He vowed to write and record a song every week for a year, and this is the result. I've been bumming about UUDDLRLRBAS splitting, so when I got this and discovered what it was while listenng for the first time, I was a very happy little bunny. ^_^

The latest from former Kitchens of Distinction leader Patrick Fitzgerald. Excellent, of course, and very gay. This is the second album under the name Stephenhero. Prior to that, there was a full length and two EPs under the name Stephen Hero. I've no idea why he changed it.

Sounds like cheesy 80s/90s video game music. I don't care for video games, but I love the two Yip-Yip CDs I have.

Wardruna - Gap Var Ginnunga I've never been a big fan of Gaahl or Gorgoroth, but this is really nice. Courtesy of a mate who saw them play last night at the Oslo museum with the wreck of a viking long-ship as a backdrop. I don't know how I'd describe this - maybe pseudo-ancient world music? It's very nice.

Figured I'd give Rozz and the crew an obligatory spin, considering the date.

Jason Molina is one of my favourite songwriters of all time. He's right up there with Greg Dulli, Steve Earle, and Peter Gabriel as far as I'm concerned.
