Majestic Downfall-Temple of Guilt (2009)

1. Temple Of Guilt
2. Unexpected
3. Swallow: Pride
4. Failure
5. Bleeding Sin

Majestic Downfall is one man death/doom band from Mexico. Jacobo plays all instruments and does all vocals.

First I will say that I picked up this album blindly. The reason I bought this was because nothing looked interesting at the cd store except this. The cover is what caught my attention. There was just something some about it I liked. It must of been the gloominess or something. Anyway, this is actually the first length album debut and it doesn't dissappoint at all. This album has nice long songs and for the most part they never get dull at all. We have deep growls, clean vocals, and some screeching vocals desperately crying out for help that I get a chill from listening all the time. We also have very mounful atmosphere with some beautiful keys to accompany a lot of nice, memorable doomy riffs and such. This band reminds me of a combination of Saturnus, My Dying Bride, Forgotton Tomb, and Shining.

Those who never heard of this band and like the doom genre will enjoy it. Die hard doom fans will probably enjoy this album as well but I am sure they will say it lacks some essence when comparing to others. Overall, I think it is a solid debut and I look forward to future of what this band brings forth.
